How we can help you “ditch the dummy”.
Hello!
With 25 years experience working in the entertainment industry and a
love of stationery design and all things magical, I was determined
to find the fun in helping our son through the dummy weaning process.
Although I believed in the process I felt it lacked a certain sparkle.
Think of it this way: what would Christmas be without the anticipation of
Santa’s arrival down the chimney? I simply borrowed a sprinkle of fairy
dust from Father Christmas, analysed its DNA, cloned it and hurled it with love
at The Dummy Fairy. It worked! The Dummy Fairy Workshop was born.
I found so much joy and inspiration in helping my son to give up his dummies
that I couldn’t resist a genuine desire to encourage and support other parents through this stage of their child’s life. It’s not just about ditching the dummy.
It’s a celebration and acknowledgement of our little ones growing up.
Nate’s Story
As my son Nathaniel approached his third birthday, his dentist strongly suggested that it was time to address the “dummy issue”. His teeth were in danger of being pushed forward. I knew deep down that his speech was also being inhibited, which was confirmed following a concerned conversation with his Nursery teacher.
It was time!
I was ill-prepared for the fear and anxiety that arose as a parent. Determined to succeed, I set about finding a way to make the process fun. To my surprise and joy, it worked. And it was EASY.
The below video was never designed to be shared, (and certainly needs updating) but this original footage is remarkable to me: to note that whilst Nate could barely speak, he full comprehends and the process. He absolutely got it! He was Dummy Free within a day!
